Review : What We Do In The Shadows

Hello Lovelies!

Today I want to tell you about a movie that Fletch and I recently saw titled, What We Do in the Shadows. It is directed by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. You may recognize Jermaine’s name because he is half of the dynamic duo, Flight of the Conchords. Taika Waititi directed the wonderful movies Boy and Eagle vs. Shark (which you need to see if you haven’t).

what we do

The movie follows three flatmates that happen to be vampires of various ages. We learn about the challenges they face like getting into clubs and finding their meals. This hilarious movie combines the awesome mockumentary style of The Office with the hilarious humor of Flight of the Conchords. I am sorry to say that it is currently only screening in select movie theaters but if a theater near you is showing it then GO SEE IT!

Here is the trailer and I am positive it will convince you that you need it see it.

My favorite holiday movie: Elf

Hello Lovelies and Merry Christmas!!!

In honor of the holiday I decided to share my favorite holiday movie; Elf! I love Will Ferrell and I really enjoy seeing him in a role where he isn’t being obscene and stripping naked. He is basically a giant child in Elf and I stinking love that!

you sit on throne of liesBy now you should have seen Elf but just in case, I will fill you in. Buddy happened to crawl into Santa’s giant red bag when he had visited an orphanage. Santa, being the baby lover that he is, decides that Buddy the baby should stay at the North Pole and be raised by an older elf who had always wanted children. Buddy finally realizes that he is a human when he is around 30 and decides to go off to New York to meet his father. We follow Buddy on his journey to New York City to build a relationship with his long lost father. This movie is touching, hilarious, and filled with holiday spirit!

Today after the presents have been opened and the food has been consumed I recommend you sit down with your loved ones and watch this movie. Remember the joy of being a kid and try to tap into that innocence a little more.

Happy Holidays everyone. Be safe and give lots of snuggles to those you care about.

My favorite late night show

I first fell in love with Jimmy Fallon (in a plutonic way) back when he was on Saturday Night Live. It was only natural that I would love his late night show now. I enjoy how creative their skits are and how willing Jimmy is to do really stupid things.

Jimmy Fallon

Like this:

He also gets his guests to do really fun stuff.

From his hashtag skits to the fun games they come up with, every minute is filled with laughter. I wonder how the writers come up with all of their skits for the show. Seriously. A lip sync battle? What a great idea!! I often lip sync (and actually sing) along to songs in the car as practice for my eventual battle with Jimmy Fallon. I know I would win. Seriously I am good when it comes to lip syncing.  I do NOT hold back.

I digress, I would love to someday see a live taping of his show. I know that it would be a ton of fun and really entertaining. Plus, shaking Jimmy’s hand would be pretty rad.

Which show would you want to see a live taping of?

Pitch Perfect and why I love it

I’ll be honest. I thought Pitch Perfect was going to be stupid. I didn’t have high expectations. I watched it because I kept hearing it was good. So I took a chance and LOVED it.

The dialogue is hilarious. I can’t believe it was as funny as it was. My two favorite characters had to be Fat Amy and Lilly. Their lines were filled with comedic genius.

Lilly

Haven’t seem this movie? Let me break it down for you.

The main character, Beca, is a college freshman convinced to join one of the college’s many acapella groups, The Bellas. She adds some much needed pizzaz to the group by infusing different songs to make them unique and interesting for those watching the group perform. The rag-tag x team of bellas has a lot to figure out and the movie follows their struggles as they attempt to make it to the finals of the acapella competition.

This is a movie I watch over and over again and can’t get enough of.

Have a few hours to spare? Maybe use it to watch this hilarious movie.
