One tape dispenser to rule them all

This week’s favorite thing is an office supply item. I will start by sharing a little known fact about me. I love office supplies. I know it is a little nerdy but it is true. Now that you know it will be no surprise that I am so excited about my new little desk buddy; Comma the Chameleon (like “Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club).

Two years ago I found a photo of a chameleon tape dispenser on Pinterest and fell in love. I wanted that thing to occupy my desk! (see original photo below)

But alas, I was never able to locate one like the one in the photo. So, I searched for two years until I happened upon one in Office Max this week. I grabbed him from the shelf like I would a family member returning from a long trip. I looked at Fletch and said, “I must have him! Do I need him? No. Will he make me happy? Yes. I am buying him.”

Now Comma lives on my desk bringing smiles to everyone that may pass. I definitely think he was worth the $9.99 plus tax. (P.S. I watched all three Lord of the Ring movies this week, so sorry for the reference in my title.)

How to create a blog mood board!

Hello Lovelies!

From time to time I find myself not feeling satisfied with my blog. I want to do more and I want to make it more consistent with the look and feel.  I decided to create a mood board for my blog because I thought it would be a good way to have a more tangible reminder of what I want it to look like.

Mood BoardInterested in trying it out for yourself? This is what I did!

The first step is to get a board. I decided on a cork board because I liked the idea of being able to change things around and add things as I find them. I bought my cork board from Target and also picked up some cute push pins that would add to the overall look of my board.

After I had my board I needed to decide on what I needed to include on my mood board.

This is the fun part! I did some hunting around on the internet to get inspired. Here are the questions I asked myself.
1. What are my main colors?
2. What type of photography do I want to include?
3. What type of style am I going for?
4. What blogs inspire me?
5. What are the emotions I hope to evoke?

I broke my mood board up into those sections and found images that corresponded with what I wanted for my blog.

I printed the photos out at home then cut them out. I laid the board out on my coffee and began laying out the photos to see what fit best. I used those cute little push pins to hold my photos in place and viola! All done!

My desk space

I now have my board hanging above my desk so I am constantly reminded of what I want for my blog.

What do you do to stay inspired?

Free Printable Blog Planner

Hello Lovelies!

The new year is just around the corner and I wanted to get organized. One of my favorite ways to stay organized is by always updating my planner. A good planner can be your key to an organized, stress-free life.

So I set out on a search for the perfect planner. I hunted Etsy. I searched Target, Barnes and Nobles, Office Max, and every other store I could think of. I looked for weeks without finding anything that I liked and would fit my needs.

With hope almost lost I thought that maybe I should take a stab at designing my own. I don’t have much experience with design work but I really enjoy poking around and seeing what I can come up with.

So I did it! I designed my own blogging planner!! I think it is adorable and I can’t wait to use it! This is specifically designed to help organize blog post

I hope it helps you on your journey towards an organized and stress-free life.

I suggest putting the weekly planner in a binder and comb binding the monthly planner.
